Get Guitar Lessons Online and Learn To Play Guitar

Many guitarists begin with the dream of becoming a awesome guitar player. This goal is within the grasp of anybody willing to put in the effort to learn their craft but consistently putting in the effort is what stops most guitar players. Guitar practice won’t always be exciting and will occasionally be completely boring if you don’t take it on with some discipline and a plan.

When you first begin to play guitar, it is simple to practice because you are excited about learning the instrument. Without disciplined planning, things are simple but this type of unplanned practice does not help you improve your guitar playing. Before long you’re going to see or hear guitar players who are playing things beyond your current skill level and you will want to ramp up your skills so you can play that well.

The good news is everyone begins basically on the ground floor and builds up their skills from there. How fast you excel or how far you go is entirely up to you but you can rest assured that practicing in a disciplined way will let you to go further faster.

You will want to select particular times for practice. Pick times when you can focus and concentrate solely on the task at hand without being interrupted. Have all your chores and duties done and out of the way, homework done, dog walked, along with everything else that could interrupt or interfere.

Develop a practice plan and stick to it until each topic is well understood and you can play it fluidly and easily. You can break things up into categories like this for example:

- Warm up
- Major scales
- Jamming
- Minor scales
- Riffs from songs you like

...and so on.

Ideally you will stay with the plan every day until you have mastered the skills you're working on. Frequent practice for ten to fifteen minutes is better than weekly practice for an hour. The consistency and discipline of playing the guitar daily is important. Play slowly and cleanly and with a metronome if possible.

Avoid the temptation to want to play fast too soon. It will come with time, but you’ll be a better guitarist if you take the time and effort to cleanly pick every note.

So you want to practice consistenly and with a plan as well as play everything you learn very deliberately so you'll get it down perfectly before you move on to learning the next skill. Once you’re confident that you have got it down pat, move onto something else to keep challenging yourself.
